When visitors come to the Hypergrid Resource Library on Kitely – with content from the Virtual Worlds Education Consortium and the Community Virtual Library – there are several hidden items to discover. Even if you already know the basics of how to hypergrid, which is what the Library itself contains, consider visiting the Island to help inspire your roadmap for educational adventures in the OpenSimulator.

For example, if you want to know more about the history of Hypergrid Resource Island, there is a monitor at the welcome area that shows you a page of information curated by the Community Virtual Library about the beginnings of the Hypergrid Resource Library and ultimately the creation of the Island in Kitely.

A gallery of of various Community Virtual Library trips that have been taken on the hypergrid led by Thirza Ember’s Hypergrid Safari showcases the possibilities of what is out there. For more information on the Hypergrid Safari, the plaques on the wall can be clicked in-world to take you to the website.

For the adventurous, a handful of curated portals to educational destinations are provided, including one to Hypergrid Safari headquarters.

Lastly, if you want to see the latest videos that have been added to the curated VWEC and Community Virtual Library playlist focusing on OpenSimulator, an in-world link to the videos can be found on the wall.
Consider these resources no matter where you are in your OpenSimulator educational journey.
We welcome you to come explore on Community Virtual Library and VWEC’s Hypergrid Resource Island and find out more about the possibilities for education in the metaverse.
