To expand on the usage of the Hypergrid Resource Library, a small classroom area has been added in one wing of the building on Kitely. It will be used to give instruction related to the hypergrid and OpenSimulator worlds and its use for educational, library and archival purposes. This is in addition to the two conference tables that already exist in the main room for larger gatherings.

The new, smaller room is designed to seat an smaller group of up to eight people who may not want distractions from their presentations.

Currently, this room is slated to only be used for events coordinated by the Community Virtual Library. The initial offering planned is “Demystifying the Directories,” which will feature a look at the three directories – metaverse educational communities, Virtual Worlds Education Consortium Member Directory, and the metaverse educational landmark directory – that are offered by Community Virtual Library and Virtual Worlds Education Consortium.
This event is scheduled for February 24, 2026, at 6pm at Cookie II on Kitely, where the Hypergrid Resource Library is located. The person leading the informational event will be Kreatya Shannon, who serves as the Directory Lead for Community Virtual Library. She is also the Virtual Worlds Education Consortium Ambassador for Kitely. Attendees will meet at the Info Center island first (as that is the spawn point for the region) and then be taken to the classroom area.

As of this time, no further events are scheduled, but it is hoped that some will be announced soon. Feedback from the use of this space for the initial event will help refine it so that it may be set up for more versatile use. In this respect, the use of the Classroom for this event could be considered a soft launch.
It is hoped that this move with Community Virtual Library and VWEC adding classroom to Kitely Hypergrid Resource Library will allow for more flexibility to continue to inform and educate in line with the mission of the organization.
