Established in 2010, NMA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to preserve our cultural heritages in new media platforms, and support, develop and preserve new media arts and artists.

Also an NMA project, APL is an online pattern library that provides scans of public domain crafts and design books for free, to anyone who wants to use them, under Creative Commons licensing.

SJSU’s School of Information conducts VR research and hosts virtual world events through VCARA, a student alumni/group led by advisor Dr. Pat Franks.
